| From Resident, The Creek, Sunbury on Thames I am appalled at the new proposals to build 50 new houses on this site. We had no notification from the Council about this or from the Environment Agency. How can they justify this proposal when absolute nobody in our local community supports it and there is total opposition? Do the council ever listen to what we the voters say? There is no way that the flood plain should be used for this massive development and I support the campaign to oppose this plan (name and address provided) |
| From Sunbury Resident - Jack Monza I fully support the local campaign - thank you for delivering "The Fordbridge Monitor" - brilliant! Of course the site should restored to flood plain rather than used for housing. It would be a storage area for flood water which is desperately needed along this stretch of the river. The Environment Agency says this is its policy - I quote from its own document - "The designation of strategic flood plain storage areas, with appropriate mechanisms in place, to encourage landowners to participate in allowing their land to be used for this purpose." Clearly The Environment Agency, a huge landowner, excludes itself from this policy. Sign me up for the campaign (address provided) |
| From Elaine and John Howard - Creek residents We have read the Fordbridge Monitor August 2007 and realise with disgust that
the conflict is still rumbling on and would like to assure you of our
strong support.
We shall be attending the
meeting on August 28.
All
power to your arm, we are sure the meeting will be very well supported,
and let's hope we can quash this terrible plan.

| From Pat and Alan Wells -
Sunbury residents I am writing to give our support to the fight of this ridiculous proposal of building a large housing estate on not only an area of significant risk of flooding but also this site is the property of the Environmnet Agency that is meant to protect us from anything that adds to this already high risk area. Best of luck (address provided) |
